About One for India Campaign:
The "One for India" campaign is AID's year-end fundraiser and
all the contributions go towards supporting various projects of AID in areas such as education, health-care, rural development, livelihood generation and empowerment of women.
Where your contributions goes:
This year, AID Baton Rouge is aiming to raise $10000 from the One for India Campaign. $5000 from these funds will go towards supporting the Eureka Library Project. The Eureka project aims at establishing 5000 mobile libraries in villages all over Tamil Nadu. At the cost of only $30/year for each library, this is one of AID's best projects that Baton Rouge has been part of since last year and has been actively covered in various national newspapers. More than 1300 libraries have already been started in the last one year. VISIT PROJECT PAGE HERE.
Rest of the funds will go towards renewing our funding for 2007 for the Integrated Block Development project in Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh and other projects.
The work in Srikakulam includes village libraries run by children, getting electricity connections for the poor, marketing village products, water harvesting etc. More Info here...
